In July of 2004, I sat on a train and I started to write. That's how it started. A tiny spark of an idea. My ode to fandom, or, if you will, fanhood. When I got home, some weeks later, I started to build it. Something in my soul told me to. It's not just happenstance, I couldn't have dreamed this if I tried. It was born to me.
The pieces you see here are written by my personal friends and myself. Some of them are funny. Some of them are wracked with emotion. Some of them are simply just stories that had to be told. Incredible coincidence, or just plain bad luck. While I have pulled the majority of the weight, grueling over HTML, graphics, editing, and my own annoying desire for perfection, these girls are truly the heart. If it weren't for them, this would have never been written at all. And that? That is the truth.
The events, in isolation, are so random, but so lucky. It is because of these people who have surrounded me this past year, these past eight, that I know none of this was ever a mistake. I thank them endlessly for their contributions and continued enthusiasm for this project. Those who wrote in "On The Road" are listed below, however countless others have contributed to the "Tour" page. Please check out all of their websites and send them all emails for their work. They are some of the best Hanson fans out there, and deserve every word of goodness they receive. I am blessed to have accumulated such a wonderful group of friends and look forward to a time when we might all be together again.
In total, there were 488 files, 215 of those files were photos. The rest were drafts of essays and graphics. Which includes this layout, the progress of Lily's drawing, 11 essays written by my friends, my seven reviews & price calculation, one huge piece written by Laura Motta, and 12 essays written by myself. Needless to say, this has been unforgettable.
I may be the only fan that doesn't remember the first time she saw/heard "MmmBop," but because they were so good, I must steal Jackie's words. "It took 4 minutes and seventeen seconds to change my life."
Four minutes and seventeen seconds. That's what this is all about.
